Welcome to West Augustine Youth Development Youth Center

SJC Legends Lacrosse is a new youth program being run through the

West Augustine Youth Development (WAYD).  This opportunity is open to boys and girls from 1st grade through 8th grade.

The focus of this program is primarily developmental and recreational in nature.  There is, however, an opportunity for competitive play against other local recreational programs in Spring 2026.  The direction of the program in year one will depend on (1) the number of participants, and (2) the playing experience of the players.

• 25 Years Lacrosse Coaching Experience
• Head Coach, Fleming island HS
• Head Coach, Shorter University, NCAA Division II
• Head Coach, St Augustine HS
• Coach and Board Member, Hanover Lacrosse Club (VA.)
• FHSAA Certified Lacrosse Official

Coaches:

Mike Hayden:

• 55 years of lacrosse experience as a coach and player
• 3x All American at Roanoke College
• Retired Naval Commander

Brendan Schneck:

• 4 time NCAA All American
• 2 time USA World team Midfielder
• USA Lacrosse Hall of Fame member

Practice Location & Times:

• Practice: Program starts in late-January 2026
• Monday/Wednesday at the New Solomon Calhoun Turf Field
• 6 p.m. – 7:30 p.m.

· Ages: Accepting all players (1st - 8th grade)

· Games: If we get enough players, We will join the North Florida Youth Lacrosse League. Games will be on Saturdays throughout the spring in Julington Creek Plantation Park. 

Cost:

• $100 includes: Reversible Jersey, all practices, and future scrimmages.
• Players are welcome to bring their own equipment.  
• SJC Legends Lacrosse will help outfit players with no equipment. 
• Financial Assistance: Please let us know if you need a payment plan or other arrangements. NO PLAYER will be turned away for financial reasons. All conversations are confidential.
